Victron VE Smart Networking is a Bluetooth-based system that lets compatible Victron Energy devices share key information and coordinate how they operate. Instead of each component working in isolation, VE Smart Networking allows a group of devices to communicate so charging and power management decisions are based on more accurate, shared data.

It’s commonly used in mobile, marine, RV, off-grid, and backup power setups where battery health and reliable charging matter. The network is configured through the VictronConnect app, where you can create a “smart network” and assign roles to devices that support the feature.

VE Smart Networking works by using Bluetooth to broadcast and receive specific data points between devices in the same network. One practical example is sharing battery temperature and battery voltage sense information from a Smart Battery Sense or a compatible battery monitor to one or more solar charge controllers. That shared data helps chargers adjust their output for more precise charging, especially when there’s voltage drop across cables or when temperature compensation is important.

Another common use is synchronizing multiple solar charge controllers so they follow the same charge stages more consistently. This can reduce “charge hunting,” where controllers may otherwise transition between stages at slightly different times.
